BevLive: Day Six
Best trial yet I think. Or at least the most of what I enjoy in a trial. 500 yard outrun. Field is almost as wide as long and mostly flat with some gullies and stuff. Nice day too, sunny and cool.
The sheep in the morning were Scottish black faces. Difficult to lift and a bit heavy but generally not too disagreeable. The afternoon began with a of sort of polled blackface mule, easier to lift and lighter around the course. This was followed by the rerunning of the morning sheep.
Trial was a lot of fun. I was disappointed when Nan faced off with a particularly obstreperous ewe and got called for a grip. Since there was a fair few of these hopeless girls I was in good company. Joe and Peat ran well, pleasing us if not the judge.
Our day ended with a drive through some spectacular scenery and dinner at the charming inn where we are staying for the next three nights.
